Human Resources & Emiratization Innovation award received entries until end of January
The Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization (MoHRE) has started accepting entries for its third Innovation Award, from the 1st of January until the 31st.

The Ministry plans to announce the winners of the Award during the UAE Innovation month this February.
Noura Al Marzouqi, Assistant Undersecretary for Policy and Strategy at MoHRE, said that the Award comes as part of the Ministry’s strategy top adopt the best concepts and practices, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, to support innovation and creativity in the country, in addition to reaching the objectives of UAE Vision 2021.
“The third edition of the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization’s Innovation Award comes as part of Ministry’s to develop its institutional capabilities, in an effort to usher in the next phase of excellence in government operations, thus adding to string of success in MoHRE’s drive to spread innovation culture,” Al Marzouqi explained.
She added that the objective of the Award is instill a culture of innovation, and promote highly competitive operations and programs, by providing incentives for the different participating groups involved, to take part in developing the Ministry’s services, projects and operations.
Al Marzouqi stressed the Award aims at creating a stimulating environment for thinking in new, creative, innovative and out-of-the-box approaches to reach solutions to the most important challenges facing the Ministry across all areas, in addition to supporting the MoHRE’s innovation strategy, as well as nurturing innovators and innovators in the country from citizens and residents of the GCC countries.
She added that the Award is based on a set of specific controls and standards that create a stimulating environment for the creation of projects and ideas on the operational plans of the Ministry, leading to the provision of high-quality services.
The objective of the Award is to create and develop the Ministry's systems and policies, encouraging innovative ideas and proposals related to smart applications and services, and enhancing electronic systems’ maturity, as well as supporting and developing plans and policies to transform smart services based on customer feedback.
It includes five main areas of services and operations, as well as systems and policies, as well as smart services and applications, which include smart phones app development (for iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS and Windows), online government services on the Ministry's website, SMS, and new concepts for services for smart applications, in addition to increasing numbers of users of the Ministry’s smart applications.
The Award categories are innovative employee, creative student, innovative project partner and innovative strategic partner, as well as innovative ideas, which include best idea for intelligent service or application, and the best idea to increase the use of smart app.
The categories of special recognition include the use of smart services in the application of the Ministry, the best partner (private / government) in the provision of electronic and smart shared services, as well as the best government partner in the provision of electronic services and smart joint.
The Award has identified specific criteria for four categories, namely employees, clients, strategic partners and students, based on the size and nature of the entries. The criteria encompass the size and nature of submitted innovations or creative initiatives; applicability of proposed ideas; their outcomes and impact; and the availability of patents, published research, scientific literature registered in the applicant’s name.
Meanwhile, criteria for evaluating the most innovate project include the availability of a preliminary studies supporting the proposal, which includes definition of idea, objective, outputs, methods, hypotheses, project team, stakeholders, implementation plan, resources required, potential risks.
All entries must also clearly define current and future scenarios of the project; stakeholders involved and their feedbacks; and a prototype design of the project.
