Issue/renew labor contract

  • Service Description

    A service provided by the ministry to establishments that wish to renew a work permit and contract according to work patterns upon issuing or after the expiration of the current work permit or before its expiry period by not more than 60 days.

  • Target Audience

    All customers (citizens - residents - visitors)

  • Service Procedures

    1. After the entry permit is issued and the worker enters the country, the customer is notified to complete the service of issuing the work contract
    2. Entering the Ministry's systems to type the contract
    3. In the case of the skill level
      1. 1-2 signing the work contract and sending it back to the Ministry's systems
      2. 3-5 The customer is notified to go to a guidance center to obtain the orientation workshop, attend the training course at a guidance center, sign the contract and send it back to the Ministry’s systems
    4. Refer the application electronically to the Department of Electronic Services to check the transaction and ensure that the conditions and documents are met.
    5. Notifying the customer of the approval of the work contract and the date of expiry of the contract
    6. Transition to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship system to apply for and issue residency
      1. In case of missing documents, the facility is notified of the deficiencies to be completed.
      2. If the conditions and documents are met, the application will be approved.

    General note:

    If the customer wishes to follow up on the application, he/she can access the inquiry services from The ministry website or the smart application.

  • Required Documents

    1. E-signature card: the original.
    2. A personal photo of the worker: clear with a white background.
    3. Copy of the passport: valid for more than 6 months/copy of the Emirates ID and family book for UAE nationals.
    4. The ID card is required for the following nationalities (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran), to ensure that the identity is valid and that all data is clear and photocopied from both sides.
    5. Practicing the profession: professions in the medical, educational, sports, or legal sectors.
    6. Employment contract: an extract from the Ministry’s system containing the signature of both parties (the worker’s fingerprint for the normal skill category and the worker’s signature for the higher category)

    • The establishment shall have an e-signature card.
    • The trade license must be valid.

    • Federal fees according to the category of the establishment and the skill level of the worker.
    • Subject to amendment in case of updating the fee decision: Typing fees – AED 83.
