Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation discusses UAE Nationals employment in the private sector

His Excellency Nasser bin Thani Juma Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, confirmed the Ministry’s plans to create 1,000 jobs for Emiratis in retail, during his meetings with representatives of the sector this week.

The meetings, which were held at the Ministry’s Diwan in Dubai, came as part of the second phase of Qualitative Emiratisation (QE) initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), and local and federal government entities, to drive employment of Emiratis in the private sector.

The recently launched initiative aims to create 3,500 job opportunities for UAE nationals within 100 days, including one thousand positions in banking and finance, 500 within the insurance sector, and two thousand opportunities in both retail and tourism.

During the meetings, HE Al Hamli gave retail companies’ representatives, an overview of MoHRE’s programs that are geared towards the acceleration and enhancement of direct employment and training of UAE citizens in the private sector.

HE also discussed details of MoHRE’s plan to develop partnerships with the private sector, while focusing on qualitative Emiratisation in priority sectors, in-line with the UAE leadership’s directives to achieve Emiratization objectives of the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda.

“The Ministry looks forward to the retail sector’s contribution to the success of qualitative Emiratization. This initiative is based on the concept of shared responsibility between the public and private sectors, to create employment opportunities for Emirati citizens in private institutions.

“Retail is a strategic segment of the UAE economy, as it can offer thousands of employment opportunities that meet the expectations of UAE citizens in terms of benefits, stability and career development,” said HE Al Hamli.

HE commended retail companies’ participation in the recently organized job fair in Dubai. The three-day exhibition saw an impressive turnout of serious job seekers. He also lauded the MoHRE’s team for their continued dedication to the QE initiative and their help in accelerating the Emiratization process within the retail sector.

HE Al Hamli directed the MoHRE’s team to double their efforts in cataloging available job openings within the retail sector, and help create new opportunities to achieve QE’s objectives.

Also, during the meetings, the MoHRE’s team highlighted other initiatives launched by the Ministry to achieve its objective of creating employment opportunities for citizen. Among those initiatives is the Emiratization Partners Club (EPC), which aims to encourage the facilities to attract and train Emiratis by providing the member organizations with incentives, thus contributing to quality Emiratization.

Other initiatives include launching satellite offices for Emiratization partners who create job opportunities for citizens in remote areas, so that they can access their jobs from locations close to their residences.

The Ministry also conducts training workshops and career counseling, in addition to the Emirates program for new graduates, which aims to develop Emirati talents to meet the current requirements of the local job market.

Retail institutions and companies operating in other sectors, namely banking, finance, insurance and tourism, will be taking part in the upcoming career fair that will be held in Umm Al Quwain next Tuesday.
