Tawteen 360° Student Forum Concludes its Events with Participation of 2000 Emirati Citizens

Tawteen 360° Student Forum concluded its events today (Thursday) at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in the presence of His Excellency Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), with the participation of 2000 Emirati students from universities and secondary schools, throughout the three-days forum. The forum was under the auspices of the Education and Human Resources Council and organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

Tawteen 360° Student Forum concluded its events today (Thursday) at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in the presence of His Excellency Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), with the participation of 2000 Emirati students from universities and secondary schools, throughout the three-days forum. The forum was under the auspices of the Education and Human Resources Council and organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The students took part in the events of the three-day forum by going through six main stations that included 62 training sessions and 19 awareness and motivational lectures, which showcased success stories of national professionals working in the private sector, with the participation of 19 speakers, and 60 coaches from the private sector institutions

The forum provided the participating students with 511 internships and summer job opportunities; offered by 29 private companies and institutions.  

H.E. Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli met the participating students at Day Three and expressed his hope that they gained benefits from the forum’s events; which constitutes a part of the “National Program for Career Guidance and Counseling". The Forum aims at educating students and young citizens on the importance of working in the private sector and highlights the advantages offered by this sector according to its requirements, particularly in light of what the forum is offering; such as the training and career counseling programs in addition to the job market and digital skills, as well as the 21st century skills.

His Excellency praised the interaction of the young and students with the events, stressing, at the same time, on the Ministry's ongoing cooperation with its partners, regarding the organization and development of the Forum.

The forum received on its third and last day 570 students. The events included 18 training sessions and 6 awareness and motivational lectures, presented by 6 speakers, and 12 coaches from the private sector institutions.

Once registered, participant students received a booklet titled “Student Passport”, which contains introductory steps and necessary guidelines about the six phases that they will go through during the Forum. They also received participation cards.

Students were able to identify their career paths during career guidance workshops, which helped them explore their job preferences through self-assessments, and virtual counseling sessions conducted by academic counselors at the discovering the capabilities station.

The students also participated in the training and entrepreneurship station that aims at reinforcing and enhancing job markets skills, self-employment and freelancing. 

Forum events included a number of awareness and motivation sessions that showcased success stories of Emirati entrepreneurs who own SMEs, as well as those with distinguished careers in the private sector.

The awareness and motivation sessions also gave an overview of the privileges of working in strategic sectors, while offering students the opportunity to learn about future jobs. In addition, the event showcased examples of international and regional experiences, which were presented by a group of leading companies operating in these sectors.

MOHRE introduced the students to its ‘Wajehni’ Application, which is an initiative launched by the Ministry to support its strategy and direction towards motivating and encouraging Emirati students to work in the private sector.

“Wajehni” Application offers distinguished opportunities to educational institutions, students and teachers, as well as private institutions, in an effort to increase their ability to support the UAE job market and links teachers, educational institutions, and private companies with the Ministry, in order to help students find internships and summer jobs.
