UAE Explores Cooperation in the Areas of Labour With Morocco, Rwanda, Ghana, Ethiopia and Uganda.

His Excellency Nasser Bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), met His Excellency Mohamed Yatim, Morocco’s Minister of Employment and Professional Insertion, on the sidelines of the International Labour Conference that concludes the works of its 108th session tomorrow (on Saturday) in Geneva, Switzerland, in the presence of the UAE delegation headed by His Excellency.

His Excellency Nasser Bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), met His Excellency Mohamed Yatim, Morocco’s Minister of Employment and Professional Insertion, on the sidelines of the International Labour Conference that concludes the works of its 108th session tomorrow (on Saturday) in Geneva, Switzerland, in the presence of the UAE delegation headed by His Excellency.

During the meeting, the brotherly historic ties between the two fraternal countries were emphasized, as well as the keenness to foster cooperation in the areas of labour.

The meeting discussed the agenda of the 108th session of the International Labour Conference and its contribution to preparing the Member States of the International Labour Organization to deal with the challenges of the future of labour.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, UAE Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, His Excellency Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary for Human Resources at MOHRE, Maher Hamad Al-Obaid, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Omar Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for communications and international cooperation.

In the sidelines of the International Conference, His Excellency Nasser Bin Thani Al Hamli individually explored with his counterparts from Rwanda, Ghana, Ethiopia and Uganda, the avenues of bilateral cooperation in the areas of labour and manpower, in the presence of the MOHRE’s officials in the UAE delegation.

The bilateral meetings discussed the reality of the labour market in the UAE, jobs needed in the market, and labour recruitment policies, besides the legislations governing the work relation between the employers and establishments’ workers, on the one hand, and the relation among the employers, families, and the domestic workers of all categories, on the other hand.

The meetings also explore the instruments system, policies, and programs applied by MOHRE, as a part of the implementation of the national legislations concerning the areas of labour. The meetings also asserted the effectiveness of such system in guaranteeing the labour rights and obligations.

The meetings stressed the importance of developing government partnerships between the UAE and the aforementioned countries to ensure that labour rights are guaranteed throughout the temporary employment cycle.
