Human Resources and Emiratisation organises 23 workshops to raise awareness of the new Labour Law and its implementing regulations

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) organised 23 virtual workshops via video conferencing to raise awareness of the Federal Labour Relations Law No. (33) of 2021, its implementing regulations and relevant ministerial decisions, which were attended by 2,700 business owners.

Qassim Jamil, Director of the Department of Guidance at the Ministry, stressed that the Ministry aims to educate and raise awareness among employers, workers and the Ministry's partners about the provisions of the Law regulating Labour Relations and the requirements and controls in the implementing regulations that govern contractual relations in the country's labour market, especially in view of the issuance of a number of ministerial decisions.

Jamil explained that the awareness-raising workshops highlighted a number of important points and themes in the Decree Law and its implementing regulations, which aim to regulate labour relations, define the rights and obligations of the two parties to the employment relationship in a balanced manner, explain the terms and controls of the employment contract, and present the types of work permits and models, as well as how to prove the employment contract and the rights and obligations contained therein.

The workshops also discussed the controls and conditions for the non-competition clause and probationary periods, as well as the provisions on wages, working hours and holidays, and the employer's obligations and other provisions contained in the decree.

The Ministry will continue to organise a series of workshops according to the work plan to raise awareness of the law, its implementing regulations and the ministerial decisions.
