Al Hamli: “Tawteen 360” a Roadmap for Future Career of National Youths

His Excellency Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, stated that “Tawteen 360 Student Forum is a roadmap which charts the professional and career tracks of young UAE nationals and helps them identify job opportunities in different economic sectors in the short, medium and long term. This enables them to promote their career prospects in accordance with the labour market needs, especially in light of the forum’s proceedings such as training and professional guidance programs, employability and digital skills, as well as the 21st century skills”.

His Excellency Al Hamli indicated that the interaction of students and youths with the forum’s proceedings during its different sessions highlights their awareness and recognition of the value of planning for their professional future and career prospects and their readiness to gain access to employment opportunities in the private sector, given the high-level academic competencies at public education institutions as well as the training and professional guidance programs provided by MoHRE in cooperation with its partners.

He further stressed that “providing training and guidance to national youths, guiding their career tracks and empowering them to work in the private sector is a top priority of MoHRE; as it cooperates with its partners in the public and private sectors in response to the directives of our wise leadership and contributes to fulfilling the National Agenda of the ‘UAE Vision 2021’”.

These remarks came following His Excellency’s visit to Tawteen 360 Student Forum which concluded yesterday (Wednesday) evening in Sharjah with the participation of three thousand and two hundred secondary school and higher education students for three days. The forum was sponsored by the Education and Human Resources Council and organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

His Excellency Al Hamli met the participating students during the third day of the forum and took part in several activities in the presence of Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Mohamed Ahmed Amin, SCCI Director-General, Saif Jassim Al Midfa, the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, as well as a number of officials at MoHRE.

The participating students were pleased to take part in the forum  held within the framework of “the National Program for Career Guidance and Counselling” which was launched by MoHRE in order to raise awareness among students and national youths about the importance and most prominent advantages of working in the private sector and provide them with career guidance so that they can gain access to job opportunities in this strategically vital sector. 

They also explained how they benefited from the forum’s various proceedings which reached a total of 136 activities, including 30 career guidance workshops, 84 training workshops as well as 20 awareness and motivation sessions highlighting several success stories of national cadres working in the private sector with the participation of 23 speakers and 45 mentors and trainers.

The activities of the third and last day comprised 6 main stations on providing counselling, training and empowerment to nationals to promote their employability in the private sector. At the station on “exploring talents”, the student participated in 10 workshops on career counselling and assessment focusing on the tools and skills of job interviews, writing a CV and identifying their career goals.

At the training station, the students participated in 30 training workshops dealing with the code of conduct at the private sector labour market, its basic needs and requirements as well as the skills of communication, teamwork, innovation and analytical thinking.

The station on awareness and motivation comprised 6 sessions which allowed a number of youth nationals to present their working experience in the private sector and the latest developments in strategic economic sectors, highlighting the benefits offered by this sector to all those who work in its institutions and companies.

Next edition of the forum is planned to take place in Dubai.
