MOHRE signs 6 memoranda of understanding to offer exclusive discounts and privileges to Emiratis working in private sector

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has signed six memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with a number of private entities for the provision of a package of exclusive privileges for Emiratis working in the private sector as part of the Absher initiative.

This came during a ceremony held recently at the ministry’s office in Dubai in the presence of HE Mona Waleed, Acting Undersecretary of Emiratisation Affairs at MOHRE.

Waleed valued the strenuous efforts exerted by ministry to support the Emiratisation process and motivate Emirati cadres to join the private sector by providing a stimulating and attractive environment that enables them to fill various posts in all economic sectors.

She also valued the efforts of all the partners who joined the Absher initiative and praised their keenness on providing all facilities in order to attract and employ national human resources in the private sector, which is regarded as an important sector that includes many promising job opportunities for Emiratis and meets their future career aspirations.

The MOUs were signed for the MOHRE by Mona Waleed, Acting Undersecretary of Emiratisation Affairs, and for the other entities by Chung Lyong Lee, CEO of Samsung Gulf; T. J. Wilson, Executive Director of Aster DM Healthcare; Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Raisi, Director General of Grand Halls at Umm Al Moumineen Women’s Association; Dr. David Schmidt, President of the American University in Dubai; Karim Firoz Merchant, Chairman of Pure Gold Jewellers; and Khalid Ahmed, Director Global Sales at Marriott International.

While Samsung Gulf’s offers and privileges included an electronic link to an attractive offer on electronic products, the Aster DM Healthcare provided various offers on medical checkups and analyses and the Umm Al Moumineen Women’s Association offered free halls from Sunday through Wednesday every week, provided that the number of guests is not less than 300 people, in addition to providing a platform for the newlywed with 11 services for only AED15,000.

The American University in Dubai offered up to 30 per cent discounts on tuition fees for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, while the Pure Gold Jewellers gave a discount of over 50 per cent on diamond and 25 per cent on workmanship and Marriott International gave a discount on all the hotels affiliated to the group inside and outside the UAE through a special code for Absher cardholders.

Through the Absher initiative, Emiratis working in the private sector can avail of more than 800 exclusive offers and discounts provided by government and private partners.

The MOHRE provides the Absher card to all Emiratis working in the private sector who can avail of the benefits of the card by presenting it to the program partners.

Through its website and smart app Absher in Google Play Store and Apple Store, the MOHRE also provides an updated list of the program partners and all their exclusive offers to the Emirati cardholders.
