MOHRE discusses with domestic employment centers on developing their services to meet the needs of families and employers

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, along with a group of senior executives from the Ministry, met with the owners of domestic employment centers to discuss the challenges they face and ways to develop their services to meet the demands and needs of clients from the citizen and resident families and employers.

During the meeting, His Excellency emphasized the Ministry's readiness to support the centers by all means within the framework of the duties and responsibilities established by law.

He called on the owners of the centers to keep pace with the government's plans and aspirations for the digital transformation of the country to provide services that will save customers time and effort, especially in light of market competitiveness.

He stressed that the ministry attaches importance to regular meetings and constant communication with the centers to listen to observations and suggestions and discuss them with total transparency in order to constantly develop the service and satisfy customers.

The meeting, held recently at the office of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization in Dubai, was attended by Saif Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs, Maher Al-Abid, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection Affairs, Aisha Belharfia, Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Affairs, Noura Al Marzouqi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry for Policies and Strategy, Khalil Khoury, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic Workers, and Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Communication and International Relations, as well as a number of ministry officials.

The meeting addressed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the recruitment of domestic workers and the ministry's efforts to facilitate the procedures for recruiting this category of workers through agreements with their counterparts in other sending countries

The meeting also discussed how the packages offered by the centers for the recruitment and deployment of domestic workers could be further developed to meet the needs of citizen and resident families and employers, in addition to discussing the development of the insurance of these workers.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that citizens and resident families who wish to employ domestic workers should not deal with illegal offices and unreliable social media sites that advertise the services of this category of employment, especially since clients who deal with these offices lose the rights and privileges established by the Domestic Workers Law and its implementing regulations.

It is worth noting that MOHRE is currently working with the relevant local authorities to take legal action against employment offices that carry out their activities despite the expiry of the licenses issued to them by the Ministry.

MOHRE had suspended the procedures for renewing the licenses of domestic worker recruitment offices whose owners had not brought their status into compliance with the provisions and regulations of the Domestic Workers Law and its implementing regulations after giving them sufficient time to do so.
