MoHRE: 12 April is the deadline to receive the applications to participate in “the UAE Emiratisation Award”

Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that it continues to receive enterprises’ participations in the “UAE Emiratisation Award” until 12 April.

Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that it continues to receive enterprises’ participations in the “UAE Emiratisation Award” until 12 April.

Farida Al Ali, the assistant undersecretary for employment of national human resources at Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation, asserted that the ministry is keen on enabling all the working private sector enterprises across the country which have a minimum of 3 years valid licenses from the concerned authorities, to participate in the award. 

“The award, organized every 2 years, aims at spreading the culture of excellence and the spirit of positive competition between the private sector establishments and encouraging them in order to enhance employment and training opportunities for nationals and provide them with an attractive work environment and ensure their retention," said Farida Al Ali. “The award also aims at enhancing the private sector contribution in achieving the indicators of the national agenda of “UAE Vision 2021” associated with Emiratisation.”

The award includes 4 categories based on the number of workers in the enterprises. The first category includes the large enterprises with more than 1000 workers, while the second includes mid-sized enterprises with 500 - 999 workers. The third category includes the small enterprises with less than 499 workers, whereas the fourth category includes advanced technologies companies, which is a new category.

The assistant undersecretary for employment of national human resources pointed out that the ministry put 5 standards to evaluate the participations in the award. The focus will be on the enterprises’ contributions in "nationals' employment", and developing their administrative, professional, technical or behavioral capabilities, encouraging and communicating with them. In addition, the focus will also be on how to develop and implement enhanced strategies with guidelines, objectives, policies, programs and indicators associated with Emiratisation and the availability of clear mechanisms to implement the strategy and follow it up.


Standards also focus on the role and practices of senior management from heads, managers and supervisors in defining a vision and a mechanism to deal with Emiratisation and how to achieve and institutionalization of values ​​and institutional goals and direct them towards the citizen”, Al Ali added. “In addition, our standards focus on how enterprises consider Emiratisation as a pillar of performance excellence and availability of a good and stimulating environment for national cadres on business continuity.”

 

The assistant undersecretary for employment of national human resources explained that the wining enterprises will be categorized in all of the award categories in 3 levels which are platinum, gold and silver, based on evaluation degrees of the above mentioned standards.

“The ministry is committed to the principle of transparency and neutrality in determining the winners according to the best practices for evaluation, which includes field visits to the enterprises to check the evidences provided by the participated enterprises which will be evaluated by specialized assessors, supervised by award jury from the ministry,” she added.


Al Ali also asked all the targeted enterprises in the private sector to participate in the award to honor the winning enterprises and giving it exclusive privileges to encourage it to keep up it strategy of employing nationals, and there is a special honoring to the category of the leading Emiratisation enterprises which is determined according specific standards.
