Yesterday, Wednesday, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) received a large number of workers incoming into the country through Dubai International Airport, Terminal 1, with souvenirs and awareness-raising booklets on the Law concerning the Regulation of Labour Relations, as part of the Ministry’s celebrations of the World Labour Day, under the theme “Labourers Are the Pulse of Our Works”.

“Receiving incoming workers by the Ministry comes at the behest of His Excellency, Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of MOHRE, to establish direct communication between the officials of MOHRE and the workers, newcomers in particular, and to please them through the distribution of gifts in kind and souvenirs,” said Khalil Khoury, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic Work Affairs.

“As part of its celebrations of the World Labour Day,” added Khoury, “the Ministry was keen on distributing awareness-raising booklets on the Law concerning the Regulation of Labour Relations as well as the Ministry Resolutions enforcing that law, printed in a range of languages, including the articles that establish rights and duties. This will promote a stable working environment that preserves the rights of workers and ensures the interests of employers.”

Incoming workers expressed their deep satisfaction at the Ministry’s reception and provision of the awareness-raising booklets, which will help them understand their rights and obligations.

The Ministry also organized a range of recreational and educational activities, as well as initiatives, as part of its celebrations of the World Labour Day, with the participation of thousands of workers from throughout the State.

On the other hand, customer happiness centres of MOHRE organised several festive events in a variety of areas, which included distributing gifts in kind, souvenirs, drinks and foods in cooperation with the Ministry’s partners.
