500 Workers Participate in the "Happy Summer" Initiative in Abu Dhabi

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in partnership with the Ministry of Tolerance, the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones Management, the National Ambulance and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, have organized the “Happy Summer” initiative, with the participation of about 500 workers.

The initiative, which was recently held in Labotel City for workers’ housing in Abu Dhabi, included a series of awareness workshops on the decision to ban working under sunbeams  and in open places during the afternoon hours, including the definition of heat exhaustion, methods of first aid, the promotion of the principles of tolerance and awareness of financial savings.

His Excellency Maher Al-Obed, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Inspection Affairs, said: “The “Happy Summer” initiative occurs within a group of initiatives undertaken by the Ministry, aiming to achieve workers’ happiness as being a key player in the production process and an active partner in the development witnessed by the country, which hosts different cultures of the world in light of community values based on the principles of tolerance, compassion and acceptance of the other".

Al-Obed affirmed the Ministry's keenness to cooperate with its partners to organize activities that enhance the values ​​of tolerance, dialogue, acceptance of the other and openness to the different cultures among the workers present, who represent 25 different nationalities in the residential city of Lapotel, in addition to various events that contribute to provide a healthy and safe working environment to ensure workers' comfort, increase their productivity and raise their happiness.

The "Happy Summer” initiative attended by Ibrahim Ammari, Director of Occupational Health and Safety Department of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and a number of employees from the participating bodies to provide a technical presentation by the National Ambulance to explain the first aid process in case any worker is exposed to heat exhaustion in order to raise workers’ awareness of the first aid that should be performed in case of heat exhaustion.

The "Happy Summer” initiative witnessed a range of educational and recreational activities, in addition to the distribution of souvenirs to the participating workers.
