Private Sector Youth Council (PSYC) discussed job market trends and future careers considering the growing technological and digital impact, enablers and how young nationals are prepared to take advantage of career opportunities

Private Sector Youth Council (PSYC) discussed job market trends and future careers considering the growing technological and digital impact, enablers and how young nationals are prepared to take advantage of career opportunities.
 
This came in a session organized PSYC recently under the title “the UAE  and the future development” which hosted Mohammed Alabbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emaar Properties, in the presence and participation of Saeed Al Nadheri, Director-General of the Federal Youth Foundation, Dr. Omar Al-Naimi Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization for communication and international relations and members of the PSYC which consists of 18 nationals from the private sector and semi-governmental institutions.
 
Mohammed Alabbar praised the organization of the youth sessions and the initiative of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to launch the Private Sector Youth Council, pointing out that it is an effective communication platform that brings together stakeholders in the private sector and enhances consultation and discussion on related issues.
 
“There are many career opportunities for male and female nationals in the private sector which calls our young people to take advantage of these opportunities through more efforts and work on developing skills, self-training and continuous research to predict the future requirements,” he said.
 
He added that “there is a social responsibility on the economic institutions towards young nationals to launch and implement programs aimed at training and improvement to meet the labor market needs.”
 
“The UAE, under its wise leadership, applies a policy of openness to the world and acceptance of the other to become a major economic attraction based on competition,” he said, pointing out that the private sector in the UAE has a comparative advantage that makes it develop every day thanks to the government policy which gives nationals promising careers opportunities.” He said.
 
During the session, Alabbar reviewed the practical journey at the beginning of work and the accompanying ambitions and challenges, pointing out the need to intensify efforts and strive towards self-development and gaining the expertise and skills necessary to achieve ambitions and meet challenges.
 
Dr. Omar Al Nuaimi stressed “the keenness of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to provide support to the private sector youth council so it can achieve its objectives, especially activating the voice of young people working in the private sector to express their opinions, aspirations, and needs, adding that this aims to enhance communication between youth and the leadership in the country and to achieve other goals that will contribute to the efforts to enhance the participation of nationals in various economic sectors and empower national competencies to lead these sectors.“
 
He added: “Young people have many capabilities and abilities to fill many of the quality and leadership positions in the private sector, especially with a set of policies, programs and initiatives implemented by the Ministry in cooperation with its strategic partners in the public and private sectors that support the youth and enable them to overcome Challenges “.

The youth session, led by Abdulla Harimal, Director of Commercial Centers Department at Sharjah Cooperative Society and Majda Al Marzouki, Director of Development at Emaar Properties, part of the Dubai Creek project team, emphasized the need to motivate nationals to accept challenges and changes in the private sector and launch an online platform to test the abilities of students, guide them before joining the university, and promote the culture of discipline and commitment of young nationals in the private sector.

The session, held at Al-Manzel Hotel downtown Dubai, called for developing the skills of nationals in the private sector to keep up with the future of work and for involving nationals in future programs and awareness of future jobs.
  
Shama Al Mazroui: Youth sessions are a communication bridge between young people and experts to create positive constructive discussion
     
H.E. Shamma Bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Chairperson of the Federal Youth Authority, said: “The Federal Youth Authority takes pride in holding such youth sessions with key leaders, decision-makers and influential individuals in the private sector. These youth sessions are an effective bridge between young people and experts to create positive and constructive discussion.“
 
Al Mazrouei said in a comment on the youth session organized by the Private Sector Youth Council, (PSYC) “The Council works hard with private sector experts to identify the challenges facing the UAE youth in this vital sector in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization. We work together on supporting key files such as Emiratization and training and to provide real opportunities to transfer the expertise and knowledge to the UAE youth, whether as entrepreneurship or employment in private companies.“
 
“The UAE is moving towards a knowledge economy, diversifying its sources of income and attracting foreign investments. The youth are the real fuel in the process of building and development in the country,” she added.
