“Tawteen 360” Student Forum in Sharjah Attracts 1200 Secondary School Female Students

“Tawteen 360” Student Forum resumed its proceedings for the second day in a row at the Expo Centre Sharjah with the participation of 1200 secondary school female students.

“Tawteen 360” Student Forum resumed its proceedings for the second day in a row at the Expo Centre Sharjah with the participation of 1200 secondary school female students.

Patronized by the Education and Human Resources council, the forum is part of the National Programme for Career Guidance and Counselling launched by MoHRE in order to raise awareness among national students and youths about the importance of working in the private sector and the benefits it offers, and provide them with career guidance to empower them and facilitate their employment in this important strategic sector.

The forum, organised by MoHRE in partnership with the Ministry of Education, witnessed the active attendance of secondary school female students who participated in 47 activities organised in 6 stations and major tracks comprising 10 workshops on career guidance, 30 workshops on training, as well as 7 sessions on awareness and motivation with the participation of 8 speakers who presented their experiences of working in the private sector and 15 mentors who provided guidance and training programmes to the participants.

At the station on “Exploring Talents”, female students took part in career counselling workshops and sessions to help them assess their competencies and potential and inform them about the tools needed to choose their field of specialisation, career tracks as well as future career. They were also educated about the skills of writing a CV, job interviews, creating a career roadmap, and the assessment of skills and career goals.

Female students also took part in the training station which aimed at promoting and consolidating their labour market skills, entrepreneurship and self-employment.

At the station on “Motivation and Awareness”, female nationals were exposed to the success stories of national cadres working in the private sector and educated about the regional and global best practices in skills and human resources development, future careers as well as the benefits of working in the private sector.

Additionally, they were introduced to summer internships and job opportunities provided by several private sector companies during the job fair which continued throughout the forum.

MoHRE presented to the participating students “'Wajehni' application which works as a communication channel between students, on the one hand, and educational and private institutions, on the other hand, linking students to internships and summer job opportunities.

The “TAWTEEN 360” Student Forum will conclude its proceedings tomorrow (Tuesday) with the participation of UAE high school nationals.
