Human Resources & Emiratization launch ‘Smart Committee’ for work permits

The Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization (MoHRE) has launched phase one of its “Smart Committee’ project that aims to process work permit applications around the clock, seven days a week, by enabling committee members to reach a decision using smart technologies. Phase two of the project is scheduled for launch by end of year.

Ahmed Al Nasser, CEO of the Innovation Board at MoHRE, said: “This project aims at speeding up application processing time significantly, which would reflect positively on customers, as they are able to conduct their businesses unhindered. It also raises satisfaction levels amongst employees and customers alike, which continues to be a priority for the Ministry and achieve objectives of its Customers Charter.”

He added that phase two if the project will include issuing work permits automatically without human interference. It will utilize data and artificial intelligence to issue permits.

Separately, MoHRE organized a number of innovation events at its Diwans in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as customer happiness centers across the UAE. Ministry employees, customers and partners took part in the various activities.

Al Nasser explained that the Ministry’s innovation events included several quality activities that targeted bolstering innovative practices and gear them towards customer happiness, while offering them top notch services in line with the UAE Vision 2021.

He added that nine innovation lounges were launched across the UAE, in the Ministry’s Diwans in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and customer happiness centers. The salons are aimed at providing a work environment that stimulates and promotes innovation among Ministry employees and customers.

Al Nasser concluded by adding that the Ministry has set up an innovation lab at its customer happiness center in Sharjah in an effort to develop the customer care and happiness. MoHRE had also organized its ‘Talents Bank’, which comprised six areas that showcased Ministry employees’ talents.
