236 national service recruits qualified to fill vacancies in 20 firms during the open day, which was recently organized by Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization in collaboration with the National Service and Reserve Authority, as part of an accelered program to hire 1,000 national service recruits in 100 days.
Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Center (ADNEC), the open day saw the participation of nearly 430 national service recruits ranging in their academic qualification from high school diploma to Master’s degree.
Saif Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs, said: “Officials from companies that took part in the open day, interviewed job seeks to evaluate their skills and capabilities and how they fit in in the 241 positions available, including sales, customer service, management, administration, engineering, computers, programming and other positions.
“The Ministry is currently coordinating with firms that have enrolled 236 job seekers in their lists of qualified candidates, as part of MoHRE’s commitment to following up on the hiring procedures of these candidates, in line with these companies’ human resources policies.
“The Ministry is also following up on the progress of the hiring of four national service recruits who received multiple job offers from different companies.”
Al Suwaidi noted that 188 participants in the open day were unable to pass job interviews conducted during the open day, and that the Ministry is very keen on pinpointing the reasons why they had failed, in order to enroll them in the Tamkeen program, which will train them based on their individual needs and requirements to help them pass future interviews at the Ministry’s upcoming career fairs.
Worth noting that the Ministry manages open career fairs through four phases. The first involves participants registering on a smart platform upon arrival, which allows them to choose three available employment opportunities. The second phase involves offering professional guidance to educate job seekers about the importance of the target sector and the available job opportunities, and make sure of jobseekers’ readiness for the job interviews, while the third phase aims to train job seekers how to conduct interviews, and fourth is to conduct the interview.
